Attendance Tracker ("we", "our", or "the app") is a free, browser-based attendance tracking tool. We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data (if any) we collect, how it is stored, and what rights you have.

1. Data We Collect

We prioritize your privacy. Attendance Tracker does not:

• Require you to create an account or sign in
• Collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
• Transmit your attendance records, timetable schedules, or personal preferences to any server
• Integrate with any third-party advertising network

We use anonymized website analytics (Google Analytics) and crash monitoring (Sentry) solely to evaluate app performance, fix runtime errors, and improve overall user experience.

2. Local Data Storage

All data you enter — including your timetable schedule, attendance records, subject configurations, and theme preferences — is stored locally in your web browser using the localStorage API.

This data remains entirely on your device and is never sent over the internet. You can clear this data at any time by using the "Reset App" function within the app, or by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.

3. OCR Processing

When you upload a timetable image for OCR (optical character recognition) processing, the image may be sent to a third-party AI service (such as Google Gemini) for text extraction. This processing is done in real-time, and we do not store or retain any uploaded images or extracted data on our servers.

The extracted text is returned to your browser and stored locally as described in Section 2.

4. Cookies

Attendance Tracker does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following external services to optimize site performance, monitoring, and visual experience:

• Google Analytics (gtag.js) — collects anonymized usage metrics (such as page views and general traffic patterns) to help us analyze site performance and improve usability.
• Sentry Error Monitoring — captures client-side runtime errors and unhandled exceptions in production builds to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.
• Google Fonts — serves the Cormorant Garamond and Inter typefaces. Google may collect anonymized usage data as described in their privacy policy.
• AI OCR API — timetable images uploaded for OCR are processed in real-time via Google Gemini API. No timetable images or text logs are stored after processing.

6. Data Control & Deletion

You can permanently delete all stored data at any time by using the "Reset App" button, which clears all localStorage entries associated with Attendance Tracker.

7. Children's Privacy

Attendance Tracker does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. Since the app collects no personal data, it is safe for users of all ages.

8. GDPR & International Users

Because Attendance Tracker does not collect, process, or store any personal data on external servers, it is inherently compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar data protection regulations worldwide.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
